“Ever heard about the wonders of Ashwagandha? A celebrated herb in Ayurvedic medicine, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is known for its rejuvenating, brain-boosting, and stress-busting properties. It’s widely used to boost overall well-being and treat specific conditions. But, you might be wondering, “Is it safe?”
Well, according to a study conducted by a team of researchers, Ashwagandha root extract is indeed safe for consumption by healthy adults. In their study, 80 healthy participants (40 men and 40 women) were randomly given either Ashwagandha 300mg or a placebo twice a day, for 8 weeks. Their health was thoroughly checked before and after the study, looking at everything from blood work, liver health, thyroid function, and more.
And the results? Nothing bad happened to any of the folks taking Ashwagandha. All their health checks, including thyroid hormone levels, stayed normal. And the best part? None of the study participants reported any side effects.
So, according to this study, Ashwagandha, an age-old remedy, is safe to use for men and women. Of course, more studies are needed to look at long-term use and different doses. But for now, the evidence looks pretty promising!
