In today’s fast-paced world, many individuals grapple with workplace stress. There is an ever-growing need for effective methods to manage and reduce this stress. A recent study tackled this challenge using an innovative approach: leveraging an “mHealth solution”.

Background: The study aimed to engage the workforce in a program to prevent job-related stress using an mHealth solution, motivating them towards healthier lifestyle choices.

Methods: From a corporate environment, 17 participants were randomized. An app called “24alife” with a high compliance program was utilized. The test battery was designed to evaluate physical readiness, psychological assessment, and biological blood markers for stress. Participants were monitored over an intervention period at 30, 60, and 90-day intervals. The participants’ weight was recorded thrice monthly. Data was analyzed using univariate analysis.

Results: Compliance to the app usage was impressive at 94.1%. The psychological assessment revealed an uptick in work motivation, lower burn-out scores, and participants reported subjective feelings of improved overall well-being. Some participants shed up to four kilograms of body weight, and there was noted improvement in physical readiness.

Conclusions: The results of mHealth projects in corporate settings could potentially be incorporated by primary health care institutions and the Department of Health to expand the existing system to patient wallets, allowing them to monitor their health and enhancing their self-care capabilities.
