A natural support for anxiety and stress?
If you’ve been feeling anxious or stressed, the Rhodiola Rosea L. extract might provide some natural relief, according to a recent study.
The study evaluated the impact of Rhodiola Rosea L. extract on self-reported anxiety, stress, cognition, and other mood symptoms. The study involved 80 mildly anxious participants who were randomized into two different groups. The first group received a 200 mg dose of Rhodiola Rosea L. , taken twice a day before breakfast and lunch. The second group, used as a control, did not receive any treatment.
Over 14 days, the participants completed self-report measurements and cognitive tests in four testing sessions. The results were promising: the Rhodiola group reported significantly reduced anxiety, stress, anger, confusion, and depression after two weeks. Additionally, they reported a significant overall improvement in mood. However, there were no relevant differences in cognitive performance observed between the two groups.
Importantly, the Rhodiola Rosea L. extract displayed a favorable safety and tolerance profile. Although the study was not placebo-controlled, it’s unlikely the observed effects were due to placebo since changes appeared gradual and specific to certain psychological measures. However, this study does not establish a causal link, and more research is needed to support the effects of Rhodiola Rosea L. extract on stress-related symptoms.
If you’re seeking natural ways to manage stress or mild anxiety, Rhodiola Rosea L. extract could be an option worth considering. However, always consult one of our healthcare specialists before beginning any new supplement regimen.
